    1. Great ideas! I will definitely put up more of my work as it comes along! Also I will work on a kind of FAQ section for questions about University, Games courses etc. for all budding game developers!
      Thanks for commenting and good luck!

  2. The Mighty Chrildo is considering studying game development either at university or distance-learning through train2game. The course content at train2game is very specific to games. Is your university content all relevant?

    Also, PS Vita is better than 3DS imho. You should consider a Vita competition in the near future.

    1. That's great to hear you are thinking about studying Games Development!

      Train2game definitely sounds interesting but if you are new to programming etc. it may be hard in the beginning without someone there beside you to help with any questions or problems.

      I've found that many Universities Game courses consist of a lot of Computer Science modules so that you have a strong base in a wide variety of subjects so that if you do not get into the Game industry you still can do ordinary software development. Some modules are specific to Games Development exclusively.

      I will publish a post sometime soon about studying Games Development at Uni, benefits of attending University, what to expect etc.

      I like all consoles on the market and have to agree the Vita is impressive and plan to pick one up when I have the money and further software is announced.

      I only had this download code to offer as I don't have the funds to purchase any competition prizes at the minute but hopefully in future I'll be able to provide prizes for a wider variety of people!

      Thanks for entering and good luck!

    1. I don't think I can decide which genre is my favourite but I do love RPG's a lot. I think possibly the best thing about RPG's is that you spend time and effort to improve your character whether it is through stats or cool new armour or weapons. I like how it rewards you for playing for longer periods of time.

      My top three RPG's would probably have to be; Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Monster Hunter Tri.

      Skryim is a lot of fun. I liked how you could play for hours just looking to finish one more quest, and the fact you could customise your character in so many ways in terms of their skills.

      Fallout 3 was a blast for me, I just loved exploring, coming across random side-quests and loot.

      Monster Hunter Tri although isn't a typical RPG, I loved its RPG elements; collecting materials, building new, better armour and weapons to increase stats.

      How about you? What would your top three RPG's be?

      Also I'm really interested in how your game comes along, keep me updated with your progress as I would love to play the final version or even help with beta testing!

      Thanks for entering and good luck!

    2. That's great. The game I'm creating is called "Harold's Turn". I'm using the system rpg maker vx ace, which is really simple yet advanced.

      Also my favorite rpg would have to be the original paper Mario for the N64.

  4. You should post more gaming info. I think a good question would be how frequently will you give the gaming info. I really really want this game because I have never played it and I really want uprising. I know everyone is going to get it so I dont want to be missing out. I think you could also include gaming tips for this game and stuff like that.

    1. Yea that would be a good idea, I would probably be able to update at least 2 - 3 times a week. The only thing is I wouldn't be sure of what exactly to post as I can't afford a lot of new games to review but maybe I could do features on some older classics or just news about upcoming games in general.

      Kid Icarus Uprising seems great and I'm definitely interested in picking up a copy later in the year, the multi-player mode looked crazy but awesome!

      Thanks for entering and good luck!

    1. That's awesome to hear you're thinking of Games Development!

      For a game engine I would definitely recommend Unity 3D, it is used by professionals within the industry and is also popular for teaching Game Development in University too.

      You can download a free full version at;
      http://unity3d.com/unity/download/

      Unity 3D as with any game engine takes a bit of practice to become good at using but fortunately there are a lot of tutorials and help out there;

      These tutorial videos start from the very basics and teach you how to create a 2D space shooter game if you follow along with what they are doing;
      http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/37093-Over-7-hours-of-Unity-Training-Videos-Download-them-now!

      Actually I will probably make a page with links to lots of different tutorials and useful pages for Unity 3D if that would be helpful.

      I will look into posting more game news.

      Thanks for entering and good luck!

    1. That's great to hear! I would love to see how your game progresses!

      We are currently using Unity 3D with the Ragespline plugin to develop our game.

      I'm a programmer at heart but due to the condition of our team at the minute I've had to take care of art and design aspects too.

      Updates will be coming soon in the form of screenshots of our prototype! So check back soon.

      Thanks for entering and good luck!
